Hey Dylan, I noticed you recently purchased one of these:

How much did it set you back?

Have you had much of a chance to use it yet?

it just cleared customs on friday so i will have it tomorrow so i will get back to you on how it is...

all up including pro-tools m-powered, and GST on it arriving in the country, a little under $2000. fucking cheap as - if you can find it anywhere in australia it generally sells for about $3500, and the pro tools software itself is $500.

i've also got another rack of 8 preamps coming which you can also run into the unit via ADAT - up to 16 channels direct to the pc.

do you use pro-tools?

Fuck, $2000?? That's awesome. So you bought it from the US and shipped it in?

No, I use Cubase. Why do you ask?

just curious is all - i thought you mentioned before that you used cubase.

it would cost you less if you didnt buy pro-tools with it - the cost of that is $250US which is included in that $2000.

The extra rack of 8 pre-amps is worth another $400 in top.

recording guitars for reflection point tomorrow so i'll be keen as to give it a whirl.

That price honestly sounds a little too good to be true.

I'm definitely interested in getting one of these, at that price...

I don't have the $$ right now, but in the future...

well, what can i say. worth every cent so far. Of course i have only had it for one night, but it sure makes tracking a breeze, with the whole hands on kinda thing.

seems like a well built piece of gear. cant control completely without keyboard and mouse, but the buttons that are on here sure make it easier than remembering those key-strokes.

motorised faders are fun, and great obviously for recording in automation.

seems too good to be true. i have been waiting so long to purchase this piece of gear, and its so far living up to it.
